Talamasca (or Talamaska) is a psytrance music project based in Paris, France. It is a project of Cedric Dassulle, also known as DJ Lestat. Dassulle played piano for over 13 years and started his career as DJ in 1992. In 1995/96 he was resident DJ at the Rex Club in Paris. He was influenced by trance music that he played during parties and wanted to create his own.
Get ready for some "High Octane Energy & Thumping Music", As we bring you Paul Trainer (Armada Records).

About Paul Trainer

Paul has always had a passion for music at an early age, but it wasn’t until 2001 that he bought himself his first set of decks after coming back inspired and influenced from the sounds of the Miami WMC. Being a keen clubber himself, this led to attendance at all the well known festivals and gigs in the UK and beyond. So as the years progressed Paul got more and more into modern day dance music.

To date, Paul has performed at some of Scotland’s top clubs including the Arches, Gatecrasher @ Room At The Top, Byblos, Sea, Blue and The Soundhaus, whilst also making his first international appearance’s in Ireland, Germany, India, Australia and New Zealand alongside artists such as Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Kyau & Albert, Andy Moor, Rank 1, Bart Claessen, Sied van Riel, Activa and Tom Colontonio to name a few. Paul’s sets feature rigorous tune selection which vary from progressive to uplifting trance, through to more tougher energetic trance, whilst always dropping some techno elements for good measure.

Paul has also spent the last 5 years in particular gaining experience by DJ’n / promoting his own nights with a few friends in Glasgow such as Vibe, Synergy and more recently Platinum and Rehab. With their main aim to offer something different to the Scottish clubbers, this resulted in several Scottish debut’s for the likes of Menno de Jong, Giuseppe Ottaviani (Live), John O’Callaghan, Aly & Fila, Stoneface & Terminal, Thomas Bronzwaer, Mat Zo, Chris Liebing, Anderson Noise, Axel Karakasis and Eric Sneo.

For the last year Paul has held his own radio show called Soundscape which originally aired on PVD’s Vonyc Sessions + Slinky FM, but has now moved to Afterhours FM. You can tune into Soundscape on the fourth Tuesday of every month @ 3pm GMT / 4pm CET on www.ah.fm which will showcase the tunes that are doing it for Paul at the moment.

2010 will see Paul complete his first artist album along with the launch of his new Record label Spellbinding Records‘ which will feature some of his own material and a host of other up and coming artists and established remixers. The label will cross the boundaries of trance, techno, progressive and everything in between! Watch this space…

Beep! Beep! Horn OK Please... make way for Nucleya's Udyan Sagar...

Beep! Beep! Horn OK Please… make way for Nucleya’s Udyan Sagar.

Nucleya is creating new inroads in Bollywood’s remix culture. Nucleya’s Udyan Sagar aims to push Bollywood music onto the international dance music charts, by inventing a cutting-edge blend of new-generation electronic music and evergreen Bollywood musical hits. Muzic Matters correspondent Neha Shaikh caught up with the man himself while on his tour to promote his latest album ‘Horn Ok Please‘.

NS: Hi Udyan, welcome to Muzic Matters. How is the tour coming along?

Udyan: Oh, It’s great. The response has been awesome. My first gig in Bangalore was great and I am totally looking forward to my upcoming gigs in Goa, Hyderabad and Chennai.

NS: We’re looking forward to seeing you in Goa. Tell us, from the days of Bandish Projekt to Nucleya, what’s the journey been like?

Udyan: As most people know I left Bandish Projekt one and a half year back. Since then I’ve had 13 international releases. I have done mixes for Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy for a movie called ShortKut and have also created a mix for a very popular track "Uff Teri Ada" from the movie Karthik Calling Karthik. I’ve also worked on a mix for the Vishal Bhardwaj movie, Ishqiya. So you see life has been good and thankfully there’s only forward to go. The journey has been extremely pleasant.

NS: What made you take up the genre of Dubstep considering it’s not very popular in India.

Udyan: I like to work on a lot of different styles. Yes, there is Dubstep in my album and even though it is not very popular right now, it is something that I like because it falls somewhere between House and Drum & Bass. Dubsep plays on a 140 BPM and on a half tempo. I love to merge genres, tracks that are extremely rich melody wise, sound amazing when mixed.

NS: If not a musician what would you have been doing today? :)

Udyan: When I was small I told my dad I wanted to be a pilot. Of course he said I have to finish my studies. Later he said I have to do MCA and then pursue pilot training but then music happened. And yes, my dad is convinced that the pilot dreams are now over (smiles). My dad and mum are both great musicians so I have always been inclined towards it. But I cannot imagine myself not being a musician. If I wasn’t then I would probably be flying a plane right now. (Laughs)

NS: Tell us a bit about the album. What’s the story behind the title ‘Horn Ok Please’?

Udyan: I started work on ‘Horn Ok Please‘ a year back. The whole idea behind it was to re-introduce Bollywood music. Earlier I used to always play tracks that had been remixed by others. Eventually I started experimenting and started making my own tracks live, on stage. The response was over whelming. I approached record label Sa Re Ga Ma, and told them I wanted to make an album with Bollywood remixes. They heard me, liked my music and that was it. The album is releasing soon.

NS: Which one is your favourite track from the album and why?

Udyan: Okay, now that’s a difficult one. All the tracks are beautiful. But if I was forced to choose, I’d say "Disco Dancer" and "Chandan Sa Badan". The latter is a dubstep track. Both of these are my favourites.

NS: What are your thoughts on new talent in India, especially Sound Avtar and Shivang as both have been featured on your album.

Udyan: Electronic music is becoming big and is creating quiet a splash. Sound Avtar aka Piyush Bhatnagar is a promising artist and has produced "Raat Baki" with me. Shivang is another young extremely artist from Ahmedabad. We have produced the song "Boom" together. Now youngsters write their own songs and compose some amazing music, which is great! There is also a vast amount of involvement from foreign music companies who invite our Indian DJs and artists on tours and music festivals which had given the much needed impetus to the industry. All in all the future of music in India looks bright.

NS: What’s in store for 2010. Festivals, tours, releases?

Udyan: The Indian release of my album will be happening over the next few days while the UK release is scheduled for the end of June. Additionally I have 3 more releases lined up where I’m collaborating with DJ Nasha and Medival Punditz. I’m also making music for a 3D animation film while will be released in the next few weeks. The next few months will see my touring around UK and Europe. So yes… this year looks pretty busy, but I am not complaining!

NS: Was super catching up with you Udyan. All the best for the album and we’ll see you behind the console :)

Udyan: Thank you! Thank you very much. Have a nice one listening to ‘Horn Ok Please’ and yes I’ll see you guys on the dance floor :)

Udyan is giving away a free track to all his fans. Log in to www.nucleya.com to catch some groovy tunes.

Luke Brancaccio is not only a highly skilled DJ, he’s also a hugely multi-talented remixer and producer.

Luke has in the past added his own record label, Player One to his long list of musical credentials, in addition to having been signed to numerous labels including Bedrock, Credence and EMI Parlaphone in the UK and Nettwerk in the US.

It is indeed through the release of the track "Lovely Day" on the former of the three labels, that Luke first saw success as a recording artist in his own right. "Lovely Day" reached the UK’s official Top 40 and also reached #1 in the American billboard charts – had dance floors rocking all over the world. The tracks simplistic vocals and harmonic progressive edge soon earned Luke and fellow collaborator, Bruce Aisher recognition as two of the hottest producers in town. As a result, Luke’s technical brilliance in the studio soon saw him remixing tracks for the likes of Timo Maas, Jimmy Van M, James Holden, Prophets Of Sound and Dirty Vegas to name but a few. Another string to his bow was having 3 essential new tunes on Pete Tong’s Essential Collection on Radio One. But production skills aside, it’s his accomplishment as a DJ, which has also landed Luke such lavish praise from the clubbing fraternity.

Tour Dates:

May 7th – Tantra, Kolkata
May 21st – Torque, Hyderabad
May 22nd – TBA

Paolo Mojo is now established as an acknowledged leading light on the underground house music scene. Already a highly respected DJ, his relentless production schedule throughout 2008 has sky rocketed him into the production premier league.

2008 saw him a virtual ever present on BBC’s Radio One Essential Selection / Mix with 7 singles on his Oosh label getting constant radio airplay. An Essential New Tune for ‘Nightlaw‘ in February was followed by one of the most well received Essential Mixes of the year in August, and Paolo was name checked as one of Pete Tong’s hottest producers of the year.

It’s easy to see why, his stylish, turbo charged tech house sound has been one of the success stories of 2008… singles such as "Brooksong", "The Dancer", "Interstellar", "Home", "Sirena", "Nightlaw" and "Ron Hardy Said" (in collaboration with Jim Rivers) have led people to start talking about the Paolo Mojo ‘sound’.

Into 2009 and original tracks such as "Deux Ex Machina", "Que Loucura De Som" and the massive "Lauda" have cemented his standing while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of his sound.

His remixing skills are now in high demand; his take on Moonface "U Get So Give" was the highest selling remix in the recent high profile Bedrock 10 release, a triple album containing classic reworks from the likes of Steve Lawler, Tom Middleton and Guy Gerber. Other remixes for Factomania, Little Mountain, Curfew Nervous, Postiva and Ego Records have confirmed his name as one of the most in demand remixers of the moment.

Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren aren’t the only ones loving the Machine. Their fourth Way Out West album, ‘We Love Machine‘ was the culmination to their 16 years of partnership and journey both in and outside everything EDM. Not only did it please the loyal Way Out West fans, who hold their "The Gift", "Don’t Forget Me", "The Fall" and "Killa" oh-so dear, but it also drew a new generation of dance lovers into its shimmery breaks, lush arrangements, down tempo cinematic masterpieces, dance floor killers and sublime appetizers. With their open-minded, openhearted and diversifying ‘We Love Machine‘, Way Out West was given a warm welcome back.

Dealing with such diversity, makes it no surprise that the official Remix pack of ‘We Love Machine‘ is another pool of overlapping genres. Ten of its tracks were remixed by 15 different producers, touching boundaries of progressive, trance, techno, house and break beat alike. New identities for tracks like "Surrender", "Body Motion" and "Tales Of The Rabit Monk" were given by talented wizards of the sound, from the likes of Jaytech, D Ramirez and Scuba to Eelke Kleijn, Ruben de Ronde, Koen Lebens, Michael Cassette, Envotion, Guy J and many more. 18 different, new approaches to make ‘We Love Machine‘ even more loveable.

It has been almost 3 years since Markus Schulz rocked the electronic dance planet to its core with ‘Progression‘ – his critically-acclaimed sophomore album. Since its 2007 release he has smashed countless clubs with his kinetic, captivating DJ sets (breaking into the world’s top 10 ranks in the process), examined the musical make-up of cities with his compilation series and explored his darker, housier side with Dakota.

Now, in mid-2010, after 18 months of studio production sessions and an unrelenting pursuit of the perfect ‘Progression‘ follow-up, he returns with ‘Do You Dream?‘.

Since the earliest days of his Coldharbour label, fans and critics alike have seen Schulz as both the leading-light pioneer and ultimate standard-bearer of trance’s new wave. The album instantly absorbs the listener back into that world, delivering a masterful start-to-finish audio experience.
